Meet Cassie, a client of mine. Bright, articulate, high-achiever new Mom, she and her husband have been on an amazing journey utilizing Whole30. It's broken up the strangle hold of some foods as well as delighted their sense of adventure with food and entertainment!
“I’m too tired to think about dinner. Let’s just…” How often have you found yourself saying these words.
It’s been a long day. You are mentally and physically exhausted. Running around all day with work, kids, pets, and your To Do list is STILL not done and it hits you -DINNER.
They slip out…
“I’m too tired to think about dinner. Let’s just…”Let’s just what? Order a pizza? Get some take out? Whatever is easiest and doesn’t make you think too hard.
I have been there, done that. I have the sweat pants to prove it and if I am honest, that has been my greatest struggle to date in my journey to find my food. How easy it was for me to just pick up a pizza on my way home or some Publix chicken fingers and a six pack of beer and a half gallon of ice cream. These became Go To meals.
But as I found my food, I realized the following:
I cannot let the “I’m too tired” moments derail my progress. I have to change my Go Tos.
My quick & easy meals for those days when my family needs dinner fast.
Brinner - an omelette with whatever veggies I have left in the fridge.
Cold proscuitto and veggies with a homemade Whole 30 dip and a sweet potato (5 mins in the microwave)
I even have a go to take out place. (Yes! They exist. You just have to do the legwork to find it)
These new Go Tos help me overcome those moments and give me the energy to complete my day.
What is your Go To? How do you handle those tire moments? Those life moments?
When you find your food, you gain the energy to conquer those life moments.
