Since Dietdoctor.com ran my story I've had many people reach out to me and a few have hired me to coach them on their Low Carb journey. They are not finding the weight loss they were expecting. Here's my story on that:
I was doing Low Carb. It's #1 job was to "be there" for me while I got off sugars and starches. It worked. Problem was, weight loss was very very slow. But I wasn't as worried about that as I was about getting off the sugar and carb addiction cycle. That cycle had been running my life! It was in control and I knew lowcarb would help me break free!
I ate all the meat I wanted til satisfied. I had little Sugar free candies, and a protein shake here or there. I was definitely getting free of carbs...but you see I had a diet partner and she was literally losing weight! I had broken a controlling cycle but not lost much weight... Then I ran into "Bullet Proof Coffee" on a Facebook article and it led me to Ruled.me a Ketogenic Diet web page...Butter in my coffee? Coconut oil, where do I buy that? Record my food??? Weigh myself??? Wow this was going to take work! The real work would be "coming under restraint and following a plan completely. It immediately felt claustrophobic! It was starting to really feel like a diet! I did freak out, because I obviously don't diet well.
Do THE work!
I was scared of all scales...Well actually no I just didn't like being put under RESTRAINT! I didn't like the accountability and REALITY of the scale I needed to step on or the scale I needed to put my precious protein on. I needed to up my GAME! Face it!
JUST DO IT!
I tested out the coffee and found it to be amazing...that followed me not eating til like 2pm. So in reality BPC (Bullet Proof Coffee) and Intermittent Fasting (IF) began really at the same time and moved in seamlessly, along with downloading My Fitness Pal (MFP) a food tracker with a pie graph. Time to face all those numbers

I embraced a ketogenic diet. 75% fats 20% proteins and 5% carbs. I wrote down everything, recorded everything and weighed everything...and weight began to totally come off....50lbs in 3 months. I think being in a low carb place for over 4 months actually is why I was able to lose so much, so fast. I wasn't really watching the weight because I was so busy recording everything and reading every thing I could find.
