I almost let it take my life!
It’s true. I had quit on myself, it was simply too hard to control my hunger, so I just gave in and fed it. Gave into the controlling foods that had been ringing a bell in my ear over and over and over…to the point I’d eat to shut it up! Then the bell would ring and encourage me to eat again, WAY PAST COMFORT, SATIETY or HUNGER! Obesity, depression and isolation followed. Not good in the health and fitness industry.
So how did I get from the left photo to the right photo?
I changed my food and it slowly but surely changed every thing!
I removed the foods I could not control. All the foods I could not control were in the carb category, so I reached for a “Lowcarb diet” that provided guidance. I mean, what do you eat when your diet has consisted of processed foods, sweet foods, and alcohol. Add in all of the convenience foods, and fast foods. What’s left?
Whole foods! But what are they? The lowcarb approach seemed understandable so I jumped on that diet. That’s clean meats, diary, fats and veggies. It’s all real food, and REAL FOOD CHANGES EVERYTHING! It became my saving grace! No more sugars and starches and guess what? NO MORE HUNGER! So, I do know what food is capable of GIVING me and what it can TAKE from me! Food gave me my life back again.
