I was using food to relax myself. I especially liked to pop chewing gum when facing a challenging report or problem. It relaxed me, or so I thought but in actuality it made me HUNGRY for more gum!
I use to come home and have a drink, which led to a few more. Seeking to relax.
I would cook something special and indulge, and then have some more, needing to relax over a good meal.
Hot baths, candles, good music, relax, relax, relax so I’d sleep well.
I was seeking to RELAX MYSELF
Sometimes I hold my breath all day long dealing with problems, issues and concerns and I don’t seek to Reset myself. I wish I was a smoker. They can step outside, lean against the wall and smoke. They get to STEP OUT, BREAK and then come back having purposely relaxed themselves.
How often are you eating to relax yourself? How often are you reaching for foods that will MAKE you hungry in an hour? How often do you snack before dinner, while cooking, seeking to relax? How often do you take that glass of wine farther than one glass? When do you turn on that TV on and seek to separate from your life in efforts to relax?
If you are Keto, what do you do when food goes QUIET? What now?
I’m on a quest to find moment of resetting. Moments in the day, FOR ME. What if that helps me not use food?
