The hardest thing to face is another food failure. I found myself chewing gum and swigging Diet Pepsi’s to cope with stress. One day I came around the corner to the computer. It had an email on it I needed to open and deal with. I was dreading it, and I reached for a small piece of gum to fortify myself as I sat down to open and read and deal with yet another…problem that would drain my tank.
The gum has a sugar free sweetener. It lit up my mouth and made me feel like I was getting something for free! Sweetness with no calories!
It went from treat to crutch!
Even worse than that was the fact it would release cravings. My mind would start off on a journey for “something more.” It would be relentless until I popped a fresh piece of Gum or food in my mouth. Then I’d start to plot and plan a meal thinking I was hungry when in fact just craving.
Cravings not only distracted me all the time, but I mistook them as hunger!
I stopped the sweeteners and was no longer hungry all the time.
I was NOT easy. It was HARD, very HARD. It was not something that went away in a day, it took a good 3-5 days til the quiet arrived.
This sweetener problem has come and gone for the last 2 years, that’s why there’s been weight gain. I was always keto-eating. Too much eating. Eating outside of hunger. Thinking and craving til I ate keto foods.
These days I’m Intermittent fasting because it’s occurred naturally. Things are very quiet and I’m using NON-FOOD-TOOLS more and more now to try and cope with the stress. Truthfully they are not immediate pleasure points like a cookie, yet are so much better for me.

This is my story, this is my most recent experience. Are you hungry all the time no matter if it’s keto or not? It’s probably the sweeteners after all, “In some people they cause cravings.” That’s a fact!
