My eyes have been opened!
I am either eating Lowcarb where my carbs drift up towards 35-50g a day or I’m eating Keto where my carbs are very controlled and down below 20g a day. I’ve been in diet maintenance for almost 3 years and I’ve not touched bread, rice, pasta, potatoes or sugar in almost 4 yrs.. I’ve never left the Lowcarb rodeo, and when I feel out of control or gain weight I will slip over to a more restricted season of dieting on a ketogenic approach. This is what normal people do, they go on their diets when they put on a little weight and they bring it back down.
Recently I had pushed hard for months towards a couple of big events this summer. I was keto, I was exercising hard, reaching for summer goals and I was down into my smaller sizes. After the big events, I let up on the intensity and slowly my carb counts rose and with that HUNGER CAME BACK along with CONSTANT TIREDNESS.
Again, I have done what normal people do, returned to “diet mode” but this time, I entered diet mode starving! Starving all the time, and grazing, lowcarb grazing a good bit. Old behaviors were strongly in control, ALL ON LOWCARB!
Keto means control, Lowcarb means hunger.
For me, Keto, means carbs 20g or less, and more organized eating. Keto means simple plates and no desserts. Keto means Control. Lowcarb means casseroles, eating out more often, and desserts, less counting and often MORE eating. Neither of these pathways brings back the bad boy carbs but I’m seeing now I respond very differently to carb counts. I’m very sensitive to Ketosis.
I’ve got a whole new awareness. I truly struggle with food all over again when I don’t keep the carbs significantly low. I drift back to overeating, and grazing and feel tired and unmotivated. Do you feel like that even though you are Keto??? Are you really in ketosis? I was not.
It might be time to investigate.
Please note: I would rather talk about Vision and Purpose, Living and Health I’m not super into food for a topic all the time, but WHEN FOOD BECOMES AN ISSUE, I personally address it and share my findings. I want to see you get food quiet so you can go on to living and carrying out the purpose and call on your lives! In my body, Keto makes food quiet.
