Superbowl Parties!!! They are such fun and there is always some of the best finger food in the world at them! I have no idea if YOUR team won or lost last night, but today YOUR DIET IS ON THE LINE today!
For years I was a "Biggest Loser" diet coach for the local hospital. I'd go to the different departments on campus at the hospital, representing C3 Fitness and I would coach teams that were competing in the Biggest Loser contest. The Superbowl played a huge pivotal moment where everyone's success was challenged! The MONDAY AFTER was ONE of the hardest weight in's. But worse than that? Was the NEXT weigh in, the following week when people's weight started to rise again! "I CAN'T GET IT BACK" was a common statement. Oh my gosh their pain! They had seen the reality of throwing away diet momentum! I hated that part! Still do! People throw away something they worked SO HARD for!
They thought they could eat and it would be ok? "just this one bite'..."Just today, I'll get back on tomorrow"...only tomorrow became this elusive place they could not find their way back to. Diet Disaster had them in the grip!
I've found this to be one of the BEST places of all. I believe there are certain foods that if I eat them will lead me RIGHT TO DIET DISASTER...I believe it's the FOODS that are controlling and when I take them out of my life, I'm back in control of food. The reason is when you SEE what food does to you and your behavior, it can BRING REAL awareness that can lead to REAL CHANGE! Here are a few tips to save the day.
#1 THE COMEBACK IS HARD, plan all your food and dial in your focus. Expect a war on your hands (sugars and starches ARE bullies) and do what ever you have to restore order that will lead to momentum. Remove all foods you were doing with out 2 weeks ago when you were cruising on the your diet!
#2 TIME TO PHONE A FRIEND and get yourself into accountability. Personal talks and promises won't get you through unless you have a determination made of steel, but since you struggle with your weight you don't have it and you are NOT that person! You need others!
#3 FACE THE MUSIC! There are certain foods that OVERRIDE you! They promise you a moment and take days, weeks, and months of control back OFF you!

I'm a Personal Trainer and in Gym Management. I am in the health and fitness industry. I've lost control over food in front of an entire organization, gained 85lbs, slipped into depression and isolation, all the while holding down my job. I could not longer exercise or teach spin class duet to my obesity. I'd lost all confidence and was full of shame. ALL BECAUSE I THOUGHT "I CAN EAT JUST ONE BITE"...Talk about a BITE-IN-THE-ASS !
When I removed the foods that took control, slowly I healed and was able to begin to MANAGE MYSELF again and restore order, food and slowly confidence. IT was hell ! But in truth it wasn't as hard as the daily hell I use to live in...
So I get it when you say, "I CAN'T GET IT BACK"...I was the BIGGEST LOSER in another regard for some time...don't make that mistake!
