I am an Over-eater, not a Cheater
I over-eat when I get stressed, am bored or don't have enough structure in place. Oh it gets worse...I am on a ketogenic diet, which is high fats and low carbs. It's easy to gain weight on a ketogenic diet if you are not staying in the boundaries of "stop when full"...
Eating a ketogenic diet has a HUGE perk...Suppressed appetite. Ketosis takes away hunger. When I am in ketosis, I am very much in control. So, someone asked me, "if you are keto how is it you GET OUT of ketosis?" Well, there are small amounts of carbs in nuts, avocado, cream cheese and sweeteners. THEY ADD UP and when they go above 20g for the entire day...I bump out of Ketosis and when I am out, often my desires rule... That's what I mean when I say "carbs control my ketosis." Keeping structure in place KEEPS carbs in place!
I simply always want MORE! I'm trying to fill a void or cover emotion and comfort it, I suspect. It takes a BIG hit on my energy levels and more importantly my CONFIDENCE...
Here are a few things I have to keep to.
#1 Recording food. When I plan my food and record it before eating I do so good!
#2 Walk with a diet buddy keeps me honest. Plus I don't want to disappoint or let another dieter down.
#3 I portion out and pick a plate that makes me feel like I've got a lot of food...
#4 I close the kitchen after dinner.
I've just completed day 7 of these rules and I am back in ketosis and control. I do record all my food and stay with in my plan. I'm super proud to say the kitchen is closed at 7:30 each night! My diet partner is experiencing the same success and together we are walking out a 37 day journey culminating on Oct 19th when I introduce 8 women who have walked out a 10-month weight loss, lifestyle make over at a conference. When I am back in control I shine, I'm passionate about helping others and I can offer REAL HOPE.
