At first we don't want to say a word. We're too afraid we're on the verge of another failure. No sticking our necks out...
Then, we get some traction. Things start to go right and we lose a little weight, we find foods we like and can manage. We start to have a tiny bit of hope again.
Then we get momentum and we're taking back ground and things are looking brighter...
Then we accept the real change and let our breath out...
Somewhere around this point...we start to be noticed again! Our energy is often picked up by others. Some one "sees" us and inquires. We get an offer at work, and we can't believe it and our performance soars. We find ourselves slowly being asked "how'd you do it?" and we tell what has happened. Our story emerges.
I feel very strongly about telling our stories. I teach it in our curriculum in our diet support group. Fact is you are going to be noticed! People are going to sense your energy and confidence. People will seek out your secrets. You become a poster child!!! From the minute this group of women started their 10 month program with me, I told them, "YOU will be successful, because we're doing this together AND people will come and you're going to have an opportunity to share. Begin now to write your story."
THE VALUE OF MY STORY?
The value of my story is it might save your life! I've seen it happen.
In Karen Thomson's blog (The Sugar Free Revolution) "8 things I learnt after 8 years in recovery" she mentions two things I drive home to clients and small groups all the time and she says it so well.
"Never miss an opportunity to educate yourself" & "Never miss an opportunity to educate others"
We often educate through the simplest non-refutable method out there....OUR STORY...It will most likely save your life and others.
When you help another it becomes the game changer! When you ADD value, you soar, your confidence rises and you take bolder steps in your life! You win!
I changed my food, it changed my life. I've removed controlling sugars and starches and eat whole foods now. I help others do the same. 30 months and I'm not going back!
