There is a problem with EXPECTATION...
We are either too afraid to expect or we expect WAY TOO MUCH TOO SOON...and BOTH lead to disappointment....
And disappointment leads to isolation leads to eating.
But, back to expectations. It's really a root issue with so very many on this food journey.
IN the beginning we DON'T expect much from ourselves...because we don't expect the lowcarb approach to REALLY work...so to protect ourselves we only invest a little of our heart. Often we're following someone else, and LEANING AGAINST THEIR FAITH!
You can lean against my faith for a while...It will get you going...But then it will all click in and you will see amazing results on many levels just in a week...AND THEN IT HAPPENS...that other side to expectation...
Secretly we EXPECT to lose all our weight in a week or month or for sure by 3 months. Listen...you need to LET THAT GO or it will not only cause you to trip, it WILL CAUSE YOU TO QUIT...
We expect NOTHING and then We expect WAY TOO MUCH...Both are big reasons we quit.
Let me tell something sobering....The longer it takes, the more you will have had to comply and change your behavior to make the changes happen and you can't maintain A LIFESTYLE of 5 minutes or just 5 days of success!
If you got all your weight off in 1 month WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT?
Think about that...Because I'm in maintenance and it's a continual focus for me. Nothing less than I can never let up on control or focus...I've got to keep fresh vision before me and a daily plan at my hand. I needed the entire year of change to make me a better person to handle the long long days of maintenance.
