So much has changed for me. I've gone from barely surviving to thriving over the last 28 months. It started when I decided that eating lowcarb/keto WAS NOT A DIET...I was approaching 60 and I felt could not give myself the option of a temporary change. I needed to embrace complete change in my food choices and my relationship to foods.
I was living a nightmare! Depressed, withdrawn, and hopeless. Food was my drug of choice and my companion. I lived for it day and night. It had complete control. I wanted to change, I woke up every day saying and thinking, "I will do better today"...but I never did better, I usually did worse. Eventually I just gave up on doing better. I let go... Horrified by how far I let myself go...I could only try and hide in plain site.
The people who have success with a lowcarb appraoch are the people who truly make a choice to change! Change their foods, and change their behavior with those foods. Quickly this way of eating SHOWS OFF and you feel so much better. Ordering a steak, with butter on the side, getting steamed veggies with more butter... who complains about that? Within your first week your body doesn't hurt as much and usually by day 5 you find you are just not as hungry as you use to be... Then you wonder? Could this all be true.
These are the classic things that happen with a ketogenic approach, hunger and appetite is no longer driven by sugar so you find yourself strangely at peace with food and the food is quiet. Sugars are not around to provoke the secretion of insulin, so cravings quiet too. Carbs are reduced so inflammation is going down. Butter, real butter is back and we all know that makes our food taste so much better. We're indulged!
NOW...GO WITH IT AND MAKE THE CHANGE TO LIFESTYLE.
Because, nothing feels as good as real change!
