Waking up to Disappointment?

February 22, 2017

Are you waking up to Disappointment.  That heavy little weight that sits right upon your heart, that's there at the start to a whole new day.

This is especially PRONOUNCED when we're dieting and we blow it.  Gosh, you and I both know the disappoint scenario from the night before!

We worked so hard on our diet, all morning long, (or maybe not, we might have caved at the donuts or drive thru) and then we made it through lunch (or maybe not it was Chinese take out after all), and then the tiredness was too much and we caved in and went off our plan at dinner (or maybe while watching Friends we couldn't resist the ice cream in the freezer)! We slipped into bed defeated and tried to hide in our sleep...Only to WAKE TO DISAPPOINTMENT...

That feeling is the worst, and some how I'm suppose to rise up and conquer the day?  Really? I mean it's so so hard to start off a fresh slate with a disappointed heart!

Disappointment takes us OUT!  Or is it just me?

Well, as hard as it is to struggle through foodie behaviors for coping, and instantly gratifying foods I had to force myself to refuse, (and we've all got a long list of those), it FEELS AMAZING IN THE MORNING!

I do so much better starting the day off PROUD OF MYSELF rather than DISAPPOINTED!  I tend to rise up and conquer!  I find myself saying YES!  I am up for the challenge or the journey!

Holding on today is often for that "amazing-in-the-morning" feeling coming tomorrow!!!

When I removed sugars and starches, the "problem foods" I actually came to a place where food wasn't a problem anymore, and waking up without that sense of being disappointed with myself became the norm.  I took a lowcarb approach.  It's changed everything.
