what if it's not you?
How can this NOT be my fault? Look at me? I just ate half a pizza and now I'm wanting to run through the Drive-thru!!! How can this NOT be my fault.
Now that is one of the most painful places to be both physically and emotionally. Nothing HURTS like being STUFFED and seeking MORE food. Nothing feels worse emotionally than to know you ARE going to go back for more!
Health issues, Pre-diabetes, Diabetes, High BP, Obesity, nothing matters because we really can't seem to stop ourselves. Sweat pants become our favorite clothes and eating our favorite pastime. We are so embarrassed and ashamed we isolate and just simply EAT MORE.
Then there is the tiredness and the restlessness that comes with that! No matter how much sleep we get, we're not rested and are always lacking energy. A need for a nap after lunch is so hard to fight off. We pass on all sorts of fun because we're too tired or out of shape to enter in.
WHAT IN THE HECK IS WRONG?
It's the foods. The bulk of our american diet is high in carbs and sugars. Portions are outta whack! We are eating way too much and too often. The foods we pick are highly addictive and we can't control them! THAT IS THE PROBLEM!
I figured this all out when I went on a lower carb whole food approach to lose over 80lbs of obesity. Within a week's time I had removed all the crap food and had started to really focus on whole foods. No more breads, pastas, rice, potatoes or sugar anything. I shifted over to whole foods. Good meats, healthy fats and limited veggies. I enjoyed dairy, cheese, and nuts...in the context of eating when hungry, stopping when full.
The first BIG thing that happened? I found food got quiet. I wasn't as hungry. I wasn't as tired, matter a fact energy started to just reappear especially in the early afternoons. My productivity rose. I struggled at night with nothing to do but I wasn't really hungry after dinner.
Soon I started to feel good again. My mood improved, I was smiling! I was compliant and consistent.
