We were gathered at the table with burger juice running down our arms, a lettuce wrap doesn't absorb those juices like a bun would. Chuckling at the goodness of the burger. and the mess I was in was a nice break! I don't eat out often any more. I can but I enjoy a simple plate of food more so.
Last night we discussed eating simple and clean. "Really" my friend said, "I ate basic and clean and it all got quiet, but when I started making recipes things got very tempting again."
EATING CLEAN AND SIMPLE
This is how I did it. I would maybe have a bite or two of bacon in the morning or a deviled egg. I enjoyed a meat, and veggie at noon and a simple dinner of fish or chicken wings with a little veggie on the side. I enjoyed my butter and mayo. It was simple eating and often in small portions. Food was so quiet and my energy so high, I was distracted by other things.
When I ventured out into recipes and I did usually around a holiday MY EYES WERE BIGGER THAN MY STOMACH...and I'd slip into over eating. I'd crave the day after that yummy goodness all over again. I never sat around and craved more eggs and bacon...but that something awesome?
Eating clean and simple reserving a great recipe for the weekend or holiday worked best for me. I know cooks who can make a mean dish and yet I've seen their plates small and their food uncomplicated.
