Are YOU slowing down your own weight loss? (It's probably NOT keto's fault)
Everybody who starts a diet WANTS that diet to go to work immediately and deliver us of our weight gain and the uncomfortable consequences we've brought upon ourselves. We've rolled up our sleeves with expectations in hand we want it all now!
But what if you are the ONE responsible for your slow loss? If you are Keto and so many people are these days, YOU have to know it's an exact approach and you are playing around with high fats!
Fats CAN make you fat, if you don't play by the rules!
At first that won't be the case, at first the removal of carbs is going to bring about a big drop in weight, maybe 5lbs in a week or more! The lowering of insulin your body releases will also release some water weight. Both carbs and insulin make us retain water weight!
You might even get going and start to cruise and all of a sudden weight loss slows to a crawl. Maybe you've found some amazing recipes from an amazing host of Keto cooks out there. You've found casseroles, and desserts and treats! All KETO... all legal. Right? Let me give you something to think about..."Treats" use to be a treat, not an everyday occurrence...
Fats will have an IMPACT, if you are NOT in ketosis. What will keep you possibly out of ketosis?
The little carbs!
The little carbs that add up and pop you out of ketosis and fat-burning mode.
WHERE DO THE LITTLE CREEPY CARBS HANG OUT?
In sweeteners, in Almond milk, Almond Flour...In Sugar Free gum...places like that. Of course they are in our veggies, and we need to keep COUNT, because we are DEALING with High Fats.
Because it's High Fat, COUNT the carbs...
Carbs and Protein have 4 calories per gram and fat has 9 calories. So fats are double the calories, so when you go low fat you are reducing calories considerably which is the thinking behind "low fat" calories in, calories out. Makes sense. But we're increasing our fats for the SOLE reason of utilizing these fats to become our #1 source of FUEL...But to BURN that fuel, we must absolutely PLAY BY THE KETO RULES...or we don't make it to Ketosis and now we're EATING and STORING fats....
This is why COMPLIANCE IS CRITICAL!
(SO, how many carbs in your wallet?)
