The journey out of obesity and a very sedentary lifestyle is a long haul. Each of us move across this landscape at our own pace and each of us face many differing food issues that have led us to our obesity and diseases.
Food is not only our struggle, but our pleasure and then our snare.
My 20 month journey to weight loss success has been a long one and it's changed not only WHAT I eat, but HOW I behave with food.
My skills are sharp, I know what to ask for when out, I know what to buy when in. I can "eye-ball" a measurement and race through my food app. I can pre-plan into next year or...wing it with great success.
The Diet Terrain has Trained me well.
But...often when we let up off the gas just a little things change. I've come to accept that ANY TIME I LET UP, I'm basically LETTING SOMETHING DOWN...
Take sugar free legal desserts. In maintenance I've allowed myself a treat here or there...Followed a few videos and tried this or that. Enjoyed and then started giving myself permission for a bit more and more often...until I had a struggle on my hands. A daily need had creeped back into my life. It moved silently at first, and the pleasure of the food numbed me. Let me say that again:
THE PLEASURE NUMBED ME
Soon...I was thinking about the treats, working my macros for the treats, trying different sweetners in my treats and indulging. Nothing was illegal, all keto-friendly
Where there is a STRUGGLE there is TROUBLE!
