I have to boldly say, being in "nutritional ketosis" has given me the control I needed to lose weight, and reclaim my life.
When food is in control we hunger for control over food! It's a desperately painful place. Often it feels like there is no HOPE. We declare ourselves hopeless, as we cave in and accept the cookie someone is offering...our failures a mile long. We've lost our self esteem, our self trust, our self confidence. Some of us have LOST OURSELVES, can you relate? Most of us struggle with obesity and then the complications of obesity and are bracing for the cascade of illnesses associated with obesity. FAT changed all of that for me.
One of the most dramatic things that I have gotten back, besides a small size pant, is control.
FAT GAVE IT BACK!
Removing Controlling substances: sugar, pasta, rice, bread, and potatoes and replacing those with healthy fats: Butter, avocado, nuts,full-fat dairy and healthy oils has surprisingly given me control. Food quieted, cravings quit pulling me every-which-way, and THAT infuriating "every 3 hour hunger-cycle" (you know what I'm talking about) stopped.
Trade the sugar for the FAT and get control back!

Nutritional Ketosis is basically being in a Fat-burning metabolism. We go from burning sugar and needing food every 3 hours to burning dietary and stored fats and finding we can easily go 4-5 hrs between meals. We eat less, and less often and we feel better and better, control comes back enough for us to begin the journey of dealing with our stuff! (*note this isn't a diet you can jump on and off with out potentially damaging your metabolism. I'm not a physician, not hold any dietary or nutritional degree or license.)
