We want respect! It starts at about age 10. We want to be not only "believed in" but RESPECTED!
Our families are the worst! They JUST roll their eyes at our declarations of "I'm dieting you KNOW I can't eat that!" or..."No thanks I'm on a diet" we say to our co-workers and hear them mumble under their breath, "sure you are!"....
Respect starts with YOU!
Here are a few tips
#1 Don't promise what you can't deliver
Seems like an easy concept, but it's not. We have to set ourselves up for success! Pay attention to what you are calling a diet. Know the rules and expectations. Commit to that which you can NAIL!
Do it! No matter what, finish what you said you'd do it builds respect. No matter if anyone else sees or even knows, YOU KNOW...NAIL IT-deliver!
#3 The small stuff REALLY does matter!
Those little plans we make, keep to em. Don't say I'll cut back to 1200 cals and not do it. Don't say you'll run after work and not follow through. Don't say anything you can't stick too. Just because we say it doesn't mean anything if you can't keep your word. It erodes your self-trust and respect...(and we won't listen to ourselves either)
