WE all have been guilty of rushing through a diet! Heading right to the foods we can eat on this plan. We rush right by WHY this diet works, HOW this diet works and the knowledge the author is TRYING TO EMPOWER US WITH....because knowledge is power! We NEED that power! And it's right there in the first few chapters of the book. We're so busy trying to figure out the food that we've missed the part about empowering ourselves. Today's blog is about being smart and empowered!
I have a brutal statement to make. Please don't take offense! It's really my own personal truth, and I use this statement to slow myself down...."Fat people don't think they eat"...Keep in mind I was a Fat People...I didn't want to KNOW. I didn't want to learn. I just wanted to eat until I was so unhealthy, unhappy, depressed and a mess.
3 Tips on being Smart about it!
#1 Be Smart... Slow down and learn, read, understand and invest in your diet. Know WHY it works, WHAT to do and HOW to do it. The author is trying to empower you!!! Pay incredible attention to your body's response. Record weight, foods, responses and how you feel. KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH YOU!
#2 Time...IT takes time. Accept that. Slow down, learn and change. There is a huge difference between weight loss and a lifestyle. If you remove sugars now and think you can bring em back later with different results THINK AGAIN!
#3 Denial...We are masters at it. We can gain 50lbs eating everything in site and keep that at a distance mentally. We can put on make up in the mirror WITHOUT even looking...Start to slowly be honest with yourself. It's hard, we don't want to face ourselves.
Because there is HOPE and there is HELP.
I've been there done that a million times but this time...17 months ago I started out with a desire to BE SMART ABOUT IT!
