I greet day 5 of my 3Day fast...with a renewed sense of Quality of Life
I know that sounds strange, but it's the best way I can describe how amazing I feel.
I used the fast to return to Nutritional Ketosis. It's where I thrive.
You don't need to fast to get there...You can get there by going on a strict lowcarb approach, reducing your carb intake to 20grams. Eating no sugars or starches and only green leafy healthy carbs. After 3 days your body will use up all the stored glucose (sugars and starches stored in your body) and you will shift over to a Fat-burning metabolism. Then...your body has to adapt to utilizing fats as your primary fuel source... Nutritional Ketosis.
The benefits of Ketosis
It is a STRICT approach and restrictive. It's like walking on a tight wire. But...it takes over overpowering foods and empowers you to make the healthier choices YOU WANT TO MAKE...One important caveat if you use it as a diet, where you plan to return to sugars and starches, you will leave the fat-burning metabolism and return to being a sugar-burner and potentially all the problems you have had there...will slowly return...just so you know.
My fast has allowed me to again EXPERIENCE the benefits of ketosis.
